Forsyth County Georgia is located 30 miles north of Atlanta in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and extends over most of the west side of a 20 mile long, 37,000 acre Army Corp of Engineers Reservoir. There are many things to do inside the county. Many people enjoy boating and fishing on Lake Lanier. There are local sports teams of all ages and many new communities are built around golf courses. Excellent shopping is inside the county or 10 miles to major malls. Downtown Atlanta is accessible with a 45 minute drive on a limited access divided highway.
